Contract Review Guide

Contract Review Guide#

The unjaena Contract Review service performs AI-assisted risk analysis on contracts before you sign them. It is an information analysis service — not legal advice. For legally binding decisions, always consult a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction.

Document Upload#

Upload Methods#

  1. Navigate to the Contracts page on app.unjaena.com.
  2. Click Upload Contract or drag-and-drop your document.
  3. Confirm the four consent checkboxes (see next section).
  4. Click Analyze. A 100-credit charge is reserved at submission.

Supported Formats#

  • Documents: .pdf, .docx, .doc, .txt, .md
  • Scanned images: .png, .jpg, .jpeg (OCR is performed automatically)
  • Maximum size: 25 MB
  • One contract per submission

File Handling#

  • All documents are encrypted with AES-256-GCM at rest and TLS 1.3 in transit.
  • Default retention is 30 days; configurable up to 365 days.
  • Files auto-delete at retention expiry. A pre-deletion notice is sent 1 hour before.
  • You can request immediate erasure at any time via the Delete button (PIPA Art. 17 / GDPR Art. 17).

Before analysis begins, you must explicitly acknowledge:

  1. Information-only: This is an automated analysis service. Findings are not legal advice and do not establish an attorney-client relationship.
  2. Sharing right: You confirm legal authority to share this document for AI analysis (e.g., it is your own contract, you have permission, or it is not under an NDA prohibiting third-party processing).
  3. Retention policy: You accept the default 30-day retention (or your custom value, max 365 days).
  4. Terms of Service: You agree to the unjaena Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

This consent flow implements PIPA Art. 22 (automated decision-making consent) and GDPR Art. 22 equivalent rights for users in the EU/EEA.

Limitations & Disclaimers#

The Contract Review service is designed to inform, not to advise:

  • It does NOT replace a licensed attorney.
  • It does NOT establish an attorney-client relationship.
  • It does NOT guarantee legal accuracy.
  • For legally binding decisions, consult a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction.

unjaena does not connect you with attorneys, refer you to law firms, or facilitate paid legal review. The service exists to help you understand a contract before you make a decision — the decision itself remains yours, ideally taken with qualified counsel.
