Credit System Guide#
This guide covers the unJaena AI credit system and pricing. Credits are the units consumed when processing data and running AI analysis queries.
What Are Credits?#
Credits are the units used to access features on the unJaena AI platform. Credits are consumed in three ways:
- Parsing: When uploaded data is parsed, credits are consumed based on the data size (10 credits per GB).
- AI analysis queries: When you run AI analysis, credits are consumed based on the number of tokens used (3 credits per 1,000 tokens).
- Report generation: Generating a professional PDF report costs 10 credits per report.
Features that consume credits:
- Data parsing and indexing
- AI analysis queries
- Kill-chain analysis
- Cross-artifact analysis
- PDF report generation
Features that do not consume credits:
- Manual Review (direct artifact browsing)
- Timeline Profiler
- Case creation and management
- Exporting analysis results

Data Retention#
All case data is retained for 30 days by default. You can extend the retention period using credits. Data is automatically and permanently deleted when the retention period expires.
Tips to Save Credits#
1. Use Progressive Analysis#
Start with broad queries and narrow down gradually. This lets you use credits more efficiently.
Step 1: "Show me USB connection records"
Step 2: "Analyze file activity around the March 15 USB connection"
Start with simple queries to get an overview, then drill into specific areas for deeper analysis.
2. Leverage Manual Review#
Manual Review and Timeline Profiler do not consume credits. Identify artifacts of interest through Manual Review first, then use AI analysis for deeper investigation to save credits.
3. Be Specific in Your Queries#
Specific queries produce more precise results and reduce the need for follow-up analysis.
Not recommended: "Is there anything weird?" (requires follow-ups -> extra credits)
Recommended: "Show suspicious nighttime activity from March 15 to 20" (precise results in one query)
4. Use Follow-Up Questions#
The AI maintains previous conversation context. Asking follow-up questions based on initial results is more efficient than starting a new analysis.
